O2Micro Granted Power Management Patent

April 21, 2009. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components, was issued 16 claims under United States patent number 7,501,720 for its Selector Circuit for Power Management in Multiple Battery Systems; a continuation of the invention issued December 2005 under United States patent number 6,977,482.

This patented innovation allows integration of the battery charger and selector circuits to reduce PCB area and component cost in portable electronic devices with multiple batteries. Portable electronic devices include notebook computer, cell phone, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), PMP (Portable Media Player) and MP3 player applications.
